About Me
I’m Erin Thomas, a self-taught baker (with lots of help from my mom) who has always found joy in creating sweet treats for the people I love. After my first child was born, I couldn’t wait to share my love of baking with him. Life had a surprise in store—he was diagnosed with severe food allergies.
What started as a passion for baking quickly became a mission. I dove into learning how to make safe, delicious treats he could enjoy without fear, studying everything from ingredient sourcing to cross-contact prevention. I tested recipes endlessly until they were just as indulgent as their traditional counterparts, minus the allergens.
I still remember the first time my son was invited to a birthday party. I spoke with the host, made him an identical safe cupcake to eat, then spent the entire party on edge as his friend enjoyed their “unsafe” treats nearby. I remember thinking, I should have offered to make cupcakes for the whole party!
Years later, that’s exactly what I’m doing at Sonflour Goods: creating for whole parties, classrooms, and celebrations so everyone can enjoy the same delicious, beautiful, safe treats together. My goal is simple: to make baked goods that bring people joy, without leaving anyone out.
